Mark A. Studdert
For the past 15 years Studdert has worked for and with the United States Government. His years of experience combined with established relationships allow him to effectively navigate bureaucracy and programs to realize successful outcomes.
Studdert had the great fortune of serving in the Senior Executive Service at the United States Department of Housing and Urban Development alongside a remarkable group of public servants.
As Chief of Staff, he advised the 2nd highest ranking housing official in the Federal Government on the management of the department’s day-to-day operations which included a nearly $40 billion annual operating budget and the agency’s 9,000 employees at HUD’s Washington headquarters and its 81 field offices across the United States. In recognition of his leadership, Mr. Studdert was awarded the Department’s Distinguished Service Award.
As the Acting Assistant Secretary/General Deputy Assistant Secretary for Congressional and Intergovernmental Relations Studdert directed efforts to advance federal legislation that affected affordable housing, economic development, and millions of public housing and Section 8 tenants throughout the United States. He and his team were central to the successful passage of important legislation such as The Housing and Economic Recovery Act of 2008.
He also served as the Deputy Assistant Secretary for Congressional Relations where he solicited congressional sponsorship on HUD-related bills and directed all communication between the department and congressional offices.
Studdert has served as the Chief Strategic Officer at Alpine Companies, Inc., a HUD M&M contractor and multifamily asset manager, and as Managing Director of Government Services at Actualize Consulting, a management consulting firm that specializes in mortgage, fixed income and structured finance.
Studdert received a Bachelor of Arts degree in Political Science and Government from Brigham Young University.
